Iva Jean Stinson Vickers Allen, 73, of Baton Rouge, La., joined her Heavenly Father Friday, June 22, 2012.
She was a member of South Baton Rouge Church of Christ and a former member of College Avenue Church of Christ in El Dorado. Iva was a graduate of El Dorado High School and Baptist College of Nursing in Memphis, Tenn. She was a registered nurse and hospital administrator. Iva was born Oct. 6, 1938, in El Dorado, the daughter of James Ivy Stinson and Golda Stegall Stinson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Thomas Harold Vickers.
She is survived by her three sons, Kevin Vickers and his wife, Amy, of Baton Rouge, Kyle Vickers and his wife, Julie, of Shreveport, La., and Chris Vickers of Baton Rouge; and by seven grandchildren, Holden, Avery, Jordyn Cooper, Jillian, Aubree and Addyson Vickers. She is also survived by two brothers, Frank Stinson and his wife, Brenda, of Shreveport, and Jim Stinson and his wife, Terrye, of El Dorado; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. today at the College Avenue Church of Christ in El Dorado with Dr. Dan Williams officiating. Visitation will be held at the church immediately after the services. Memorials may be made to the College Avenue Church of Christ
