Edith Pearl (Griffin) Fife, 89, of Gainesville, Mo., went to her reward on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011 at her home.

She was born in Clovis, N.M., to the late Spencer Silas Griffin and Lillie Mae (Durham) Griffin. She was a special diet cook at Warner Brown Hospital early in her life. She then was a homemaker and "Mamaw" to more children than just her grandchildren.

Mrs. Fife was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elray Fife; a son, John Howard Fife; a daughter-in-law, Phyllis Jane Fife; 15 siblings; and numerous family members and friends.

She is survived by four children, Donald Ray Fife of Letona, Jane Adell Spencer of El Dorado, Ronald Ned Fife and his wife, Mary, of Gainesville, and Rose Lynn Richardson and her husband, Joe, of Gainesville. She was also blessed with nine grandchildren; 24 great-grand children; and 12 great great-grandchildren. Other survivors include two brothers-in-law, Ralph Toft of El Dorado, and Roy Fife of Louann; a sister-in-law, Allie Gorman of Georgia; and a multitude of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, at Mammoth Assembly of God Church, south of Gainesville, with Bro. Gale Wooten officiating. Interment will follow in the Mammoth Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Gainesville.
