Mrs. Dykes was born November 4, 1921 in Homer, Louisiana. She was a homemaker and was a member of Eylau Baptist Church, Texarkana, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, George O. Dykes.
Survivors include one son and daughter in-law, George O. Dykes, Jr. and Carol of Manassas, Virginia; one grandson, Cary W. Dykes and his wife, Eleni of Alexandria, Virginia; one granddaughter, Jamie R. Dodson and her husband, Craig of Louisa, Virginia; three great granddaughters, Gracie and Katie Dodson of Louisa, Virginia and Stacie of Alexandria, Virginia.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Chapelwood Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Dwight Lowrie officiating. Entombment will be at Chapelwood Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
