Dr. James C. Fouse

November 30, 1946 – October 29, 2021

Dr. James Carney Fouse, a beloved educator, passed away on October 29, 2021 at the age of 74. Dr. Fouse left behind his soul mate Genevieve Abdella Fouse. He is survived by his brother Joe Fouse (Maryclarie), his son Jon Fouse (Erin), his two granddaughters Morgan and Peyton, several brother and sister in-laws and nieces and nephews. Dr. Fouse was born in Pittsburgh, PA on November 30, 1946 to Clyde and Elizabeth Fouse. He attended college in Southern State where he obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Social Studies and began his teaching career. He was then drafted into the army where he served 2 years, part of that time being overseas. After the military, he returned to a life in education. While teaching others, he continued with his own education by earning his master's degree and then finally completing his doctorate degree. Dr. Fouse's love of education and his passion to teach lead him into a life-long career in education. His roles included being a teacher, assistant principal, principal, deputy superintendent, adjunct professor and the first Director of the El Dorado promise. With his caring nature, he quietly made a positive impact on people in this community. Dr. Fouse was also an active member at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.

The things on this earth that brought a smile to his face and joy to his heart were Genevieve, spending time with his granddaughters, son and daughter-in-law over FaceTime and during visits, reading and talking about history and using the talents God gave him to make a difference.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff at Life Touch Hospice. Their caring, loving approach with Dr. Fouse and his family will never be forgotten. A special thanks to Renee, Nicole, Sheena, Stephanie, Chris, Ginger, Vicki, Sequoia, Shirley and Leigh Ann. Additionally, we would to thank the aids April, Talmikia and Melissa from Superior who were a tremendous help to them daily. Lastly, we would like to thank the kind and caring neighbors who have so graciously looked in on the Fouses and was always willing to help-out as needed.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Life Touch Hospice, UCLA Pediatric Liver Transplant Program or Children's Hospital, Orange County California.

Graveside service will be at 10 AM on Tuesday, November 2nd at Woodlawn Cemetery with military honors.
