Charles A Hays, Sr., 70, of El Dorado passed away January 5, 2015 surrounded by
his loving family at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, AR.
He was born June 28, 1944 in Calion, AR to Jesse Guy Hays and Retha Lee Rice
Hays. Charles was a graduate of Norphlet High School and was the founder & owner
of Systems Contracting Corporation, American Steel & Systems Spray-Cool
Equipment Co. He was a member of First Baptist Church in El Dorado. Charles
loved music, playing the guitar, golf, fishing, quail hunting and most of all he
loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father,
brother, grandfather and friend.
Preceding him in death are his parents and two brothers, J.O. Hays and Guy Hays.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Linda Hays of El Dorado; sons, Chuck
Hays (Gae) of El Dorado & Mike Hays (Pam) El Dorado; a daughter, Melinda
Gatheright (Eric) of El Dorado; a brother, Jesse Hays (Donna) of El Dorado;
sisters, Mary Meadows (Mike) of El Dorado & Zette Caudle (Jim) of Conway and
seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 8, 2015 at First
Baptist Church of El Dorado with Dr. Lynn Worthen and Rev. Brady Camright
officiating. Burial will follow at Champagnolle Cemetery under the direction of
Young's Funeral Directors.
Visitation will be held 5:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
