Joe Hill Obituary
Joe Delton Hill, 87, of Crossett, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024. He was born in Arkadelphia, AR on June 20, 1937, and was an active member of the South Main Baptist Church.

After graduating from El Dorado High School in 1955, Joe honorably served his country for twelve years in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, he embarked on a distinguished career as the ITT Department Manager for Georgia Pacific, where he worked for twenty-eight years across various locations, including Crossett, Portland OR, Baton Rouge, LA, and Atlanta, GA.

Joe was a member of the "Nail Benders for Jesus" and later established the "Cabinets for Jesus" group, combining his love for carpentry with his desire to help others. His mission trip to Nicaragua left a profound impact on his life, deepening his commitment to serving others through Jesus Christ.
An avid traveler and music lover, Joe had a phenomenal memory, especially when it came to songs and artists. He also enjoyed cooking and sharing meals with family and friends.

Known for his meticulous care of his yard and his courteous demeanor, Joe had a remarkable ability to connect with people from all walks of life. He was a great encourager, offering support and love to his family and friends without prejudice and his joy in sharing the gospel and discussing his faith was evident to everyone he met.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Marie Cagle Hill; his first wife, Charlotte Carolyn Wasselski Hill; two sons, Joe E. Hill, and Thomas M. Hill; one daughter, Rebecca D. Ware; and one sister, Judy Owens.

He leaves behind his wife of twenty-seven years, Wanda Rainey Hill; three daughters, Carolyn Marie Hill of Birmingham, AL, Anita Kathleen Adams of Bella Vista, AR, and Kimberly Ware Dickey of Shelbyville, TN; and one son, Anthony Ware of El Paso, TX; along with two sisters, Wanda White of Little Rock, AR, and Voniece French (James) of El Dorado, AR; one brother, Rickey Hill of Sweetwater, TN; fourteen grandchildren, Beth Thomas, Justin and Kessa Barnett, Sarah Holland, Aimee Robinson, Courtnie Adams, Kristin Hill, Katie Hackett, Blayne Hill, Chad Dickey, DiHanna Bass, Charles Hernendez, and Katherine and Mark Anthony Ware; seven great-grandchildren, Saveena Robinson, Rosemary Hackett, Elias Dickey, and Lamar, Elleona, Jaleena, and Azriella Bass; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service with military honors will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 7th, at Medders Funeral Home, 1564 Hwy 52 W, in Crossett, with Pastor Brad Savage, officiating.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Sunday, at Medders Funeral Home.
