Elva Ritchey Stephens, 98, of El Dorado, passed away Friday, March 15, 2013 at the Medical Center of South Arkansas following a brief illness.

Born June 4, 1914 in Harrison, Ark.; she was the daughter of Benjamin N. and Pearl McCann Ritchey. She married Walter W. Stephens in October of 1942. They were together for 61 years, until his death.
Elva was a member and served as a Sunday school teacher at St. Mark United Methodist Church. She volunteered at school functions, Camp Fire Girls, the March of Dimes and numerous other organizations.

Other than her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents and 5 sisters.

She leaves behind her sons, W. Ritchey Stephens, of El Dorado; Robert N Stephens and wife Mell, of Jonesboro, AR; Walt W. Stephens and wife Beth of Tucker, GA; and daughter Anne S. Caviness and husband Bill of Malta Bend, MO; along with 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 19, 2013 from 7pm to 9pm at Young's Funeral Directors.

Funeral will be at 10 AM, Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at St. Mark United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Proctor officiating. Burial follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors.

Grandsons Robert N. Stephens, Jr., John W. Stephens, Michael A. Stephens, Matthew R. Caviness, Joshua S. Caviness, Tim Stephens, Patrick Stephens, William Stephens, Robert Stalling, and Ben Jones will be pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to St. Mark United Methodist Church, 2010 W. Hillsboro, El Dorado, AR 71730.
