Linda Lou Cox went to glory at 12:30 p.m. Aug. 28, 2008.

She was born Oct. 10, 1942, in Little Rock, and graduated valedictorian of El Dorado High School. After graduate school, Linda worked as a biochemist at the NASA Space Center in Houston, throughout the Apollo Moon program.

She attended Oklahoma State University, Rice University and Virginia Technical Institute. Linda served in the administration of the MSH Association in Faber, Va. Linda loved basset hounds and animals in general. She was a member of Mensa. She was an engaging conversationalist and free thinker.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Laura Mae Cottrell Cox; and her father, Wylie Edwin Cox Sr. Survivors include her brothers, Wylie Edwin Cox Jr. of Daleville, Ala., and Randel Tom Cox of Memphis, Tenn.; dear friend, Sally Ayers of El Dorado; and her dog, Ritzy.

Services were provided by Perry’s Funeral Chapels of El Dorado.
