Melba Virginia Rush
(February 22, 1926 - August 22, 2010)

Funeral for Mrs. Melba Virginia Sanson Rush, 84, of Enterprise, La., will be held at New Ouachita Baptist Church of Enterprise at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2010, with Bro. Michael Russell officiating, assisted by Bro. Elbert Sanson, Bro. James King, and Bro. Jeff Robinson. Interment will follow in Old Catahoula Cemetery in Enterprise under the direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia, La.
 
Mrs. Rush was born on Feb. 20, 1926, in Holloway, La., to the union of Louis N. Sanson and Emma Tarver, both of Catahoula Parish, and passed from this life    on Sunday, Aug. 22, 2010, in LaSalle Nursing Home of Jena, La.
 
Mrs. Rush was a homemaker, professional seamstress and a licensed practical nurse in the office of Dr. Wise, Ear, Nose and Throat specialist located in El Dorado. She lived in El Dorado prior to returning to her current and childhood home in Enterprise, in 1988. She was a member of New Ouachita Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Fred; four brothers, Albert, Dewey, Joe and Riley Sanson; and three sisters, Addie Williams Routon, Lela Sanson, and Hattie Eubanks.


 Survivors include her son, Clifton Fred and his wife, Mary Ann Rush of Hot Springs and El Dorado, and Ceiba, PR and grandson, Joel and his wife, Alison Rush; two great-grandsons, Caleb and Elijah of Hot Springs; and granddaughter, Meleah Ann Rush Powers and her husband, David, of Chicago. Additional survivors and main care givers include her nephew, Jerry Eubanks and his wife, Joyce; and great nephew, Justin Eubanks; and his daughter, Kristina. Mrs. Rush also had many nephews and nieces, great nephews and nieces and their families, as well as friends who visited or telephoned her regularly.

 
Pallbearers will be Joel C. Rush, David C. Powers, Joe Williams, Wayne Williams, Justin Eubanks, and Ellis Sanson.


Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. today at New Ouachita Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations will be appreciated for the Old Catahoula Cemetery, c/o Madlon Chisum, P.O. Box 12, Enterprise, LA 71425.
