Biography:
Graduated La. Tech in June 1965. Jean and I were married a week later and moved to Midland, Texas, where I worked for Shell Oil until 1974. After a brief stint in Houston, I accepted an offer to work for an independent oil and gas operator in Michigan. So we headed north with Jeff (4 yrs) and Jennifer (5 mos). Still in Michigan after all these years. Still don’t like snow. Over the past 50 years I have worked in various phases of geophysics as an employee of a large corporation, an employee of a small company, a partner in a consulting group, an independent consultant, and my current position as almost retired. I also took some time away from that to teach physics and trig in a Christian high school for a while. During one week of September in 1992, my daughter began college, my son was married, and I became a widower. As you might imagine, I think of the events of my life as pre-1992 and post-1992. Jeff, Tami, Josh (15), and Jonny (12) live here in Holland. Jeff is an electrical engineer developing electronics gear for the automobile industry, and Tami owns a bridal shop. The four Parks guys have breakfast together Saturday mornings, and then I take off with the grandsons for a while. Jennifer lives about an hour away and practices medicine in a clinic there. I have lunch with her every week. At this point, my Dad is well and active and still living in El Dorado. All in all, I have had a very good life filled with the blessings of God’s grace and provision, and enriched by wonderfully supportive family and friends.
