Biography:
Well,..Hello-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o Everybody!!!!!! And Happy 50th Anniversary to each of you!! What have I been doing the past 50 years??!!! Here are some of the highlights: (1) May, 1961-1962 - Played hooky from everything. I like to think of those days as my Sabbatical leave to prepare myself for the adult world after graduation. (2) Sept. 1962 - Began my career in ELDO at Southwestern Bell as a Telephone Operator, then after 13 months I transferred to the big city of Shreveport, LA., late 1963. (3) Spent 27 years with “Ma Bell” in Shreveport. I discovered the equipment end of the company (in 1964) and after a few years was promoted to Management. In 1973, I was changed to a new job which involved Electronic Switching. That job was the forerunner of what we know now as the “Computer World.” WOW!! (4) With the electronic age upon us, “Ma Bell” made the decision to down-size her family, so late 1988 I began job-hunting again. It was truly a blessing that I was able to find a position and in Jan. 1989, I transferred to another big city. Atlanta, GA! (It almost felt like I had moved to “Nu York Cit-tee”) (5) I wound up at the AT&T Southern Region Headquarters as a Staff Manager, and was made part of an eleven person Tech-Support team that would have responsibility for most of the computers in Ma Bell’s houses in the USA. My territory was all the East coast states, plus Puerto Rico. So the last ten years was quite a bit of traveling. (It was quite a trip for me, and I loved every second of it). Just to add a couple of tidbits so you won't think I was all work and no play — In my spare time (LOL) I was co-owner of an Antique Shop for about ten years. Also, I got involved in the Nashville Music scene (no, not singing) but the publishing companies and songwriters. (6) I retired on September 30, 1998 after 36 years service, 12 hundred bazillion friends, and twice that many Sky miles. Moved back to Arkansas in 2005 and have been sitting with my feet propped up and a Coca Cola in hand 90% of the time! No Husbands, No Kids, and still No Money!!
