Biography:

Houston was my first teaching experience before Dean and I married. After we married, we lived in Wichita, Kansas. We then moved to Denison, Texas. Not long after our daughter was born, we were transferred to beautiful, but cold, Minneapolis, Mn. We have lived in Kilgore, Texas since 1975.

After being a stay-at-home mom for 8 or 9 years I returned to teaching. I then quit to help run our kitchen/bath and cabinetry design business. Later, I received my media specialist masters (librarian) and finished my career in elementary and middle school libraries.

My new goal in this next chapter of my life is to be a potter and/or a painter. This process has been difficult, frustrating, but mostly fun. I could not begin to accomplish what I do without great encouragement and support from my husband.

Dean and I love visiting and keeping our two precious little girls. They live in Gulfport, Ms. Our daughter is a city planner and her husband is a writer.

When we aren’t going to see them or checking on my Mom and Dad in El Dorado, we are on the road exploring, hiking and enjoying this beautiful country. We are constantly surprised by the interesting people we meet and fascinating stories they tell. I can’t wait to hear some of our classmates stories.
