November 1, 1943 – April 6, 2006 EUSTACE - Memorial services for Mickey C. Shyrock, 62, of the Walton community are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at Bethel Christian Church in the Bethel Community with the Rev. Danel Hoffmaster officiating. Arrangements are with Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home in Athens. Mr. Shyrock died Friday, April 7,2006 at his home. He was born Nov. 1, 1943 in Corning, Ark. to the late Bert and Katherine Marie Donner Shyrock. Mr. Shyrock was a 1961 graduate of Stephen F. Austin High School in Houston. He earned a bachelor of science with a major in math in 1965 and a law degree in 1967 at the University of Houston. He was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1967 and was a member of State Bar of Texas, U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth and Eleventh Circuits, and the u.s. District Court, Southern, Northern and Eastern Districts of Texas. Mr. Shyrock was a city attorney in Victoria from 1968-1969, a municipal judge in DeSoto from 1971 - 1972, and was a sole practitioner in Dallas County for more than 25 years before starting his law practice in Henderson County in 1993. He was a member of the Athens Lions Club, Dallas Bar Association, Henderson County Bar Association, Dallas County Trial Lawyers Association, Texas Trial Lawyers Association, Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, American Trial Lawyers Association, Phi Alpha Delta, and served in the United States Army six years before being discharged in 1974 as Captain. Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Mary Ann Starr Shyrock; brother and sister-in-law, Burton and Judith Shyrock of Tampa, Fla.; one niece; and one nephew. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel Christian Church, P.O. Box 2441, Athens, TX 75751.
