November 30, 1943 - April 1, 2011 John O. Robertson, 67, of El Dorado, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2011, at his residence. He was born on Nov 30, 1943, to Ralph Isaac and Nellie Jo O’Laughlin Robertson. John worked as office manager for Benchmark and was a substance abuse counselor at the treatment centers. He was a member of the Hibanks Volunteer Fire Department and was of the Baptist faith. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved to go camping. He also loved playing the slots. Preceding him in death were his parents; a previous wife, Sharon Kay Robertson; one brother, George L Robertson; a granddaughter, Morgan Kelsey Wood; and a sister-in-law, Sharon Gail Robertson. Survivors include his wife, Paula Jean Robertson; one daughter, Diana Spint (Will) of Montana; two stepsons, David Wood (Jill) of El Dorado and Jason Wood (Marcie) of Spearsville, La.; three brothers, Joe Robertson of El Dorado, Ralph Robertson of Magnolia and Mike Robertson (Beth) of Dallas, Texas; a sister-in law, Marcie Ethridge of El Dorado; a brother-in-law, Alan Gay (Kathy) of El Dorado; 10 grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, including one special nephew, Adam Robertson; and a very dear friend and family member, Maegan Mooney. The family would like to especially thank the nurses of the Arkansas Dept of Health of Union County: Tracie, Jane, Janet and Brandy. Funeral will be at 4 p.m. on Monday in Young’s Chapel. Interment will be immediately after the service in Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors in El Dorado. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 tonight at the funeral home.
