August 14, 1943 - October 19, 2007 Donald Gaskin, 64, of Strong, died on Friday, Oct. 19, 2007, at Life Touch Hospice House in El Dorado. He was born on Aug. 14, 1943, in El Dorado, the son of Clatis Liston Gaskin and Laura Lorene Pickett Gaskin. Donald was a member of First Baptist Church in Strong, the owner/operator of Gaskin Logging, Inc., a former member of the Strong Kiwanis Club, a charter member of the Arkansas Timber Producers Association, and a member of the Poole Hunting Club. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Bill Gaskin. He is survived by his wife, Juanet Dugal Gaskin; one daughter, Ramona Fairris; and a granddaughter, Rachael Fairris, all of Strong; and a special cousin, Mike Beatty and his wife, Margaret, of Pulaski, Miss. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Strong with Dr. Dwain Miller and the Rev. Scotty Guillot officiating. Burial will be in Strong Cemetery under the direction of Perry’s Funeral Chapels in El Dorado. Memorials may be made to the Music Department of First Baptist Church in Strong, Life Touch Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
