January 10, 1943 - October 2, 2022 Joe Mack Lawrence Sr., 79, passed from this life into eternal life in Heaven on Sunday, October 2, 2022. He was raised on Mount Holly Road in El Dorado, across from the old McMahan General Store. His parents were Harry and Pauline McMahan Lawrence. He met his wife when they were very young, 18 and 16, and were united in marriage by Rev. Bruce Murphy on November 18, 1961. They would have celebrated 61 years of dedicated devotion to one another this year. Maxine called Joe her "antique teenager." Joe Mack's profession was a union pipefitter/welder for 40 years before retiring in 2003. Preceding him in death were his parents, Harry and Pauline Lawrence; a sister, Laura Lee Lawrence and a brother-in-law, Travis Davis. Joe Mack is survived by his wife, Maxine; son, Joe Mack Lawrence, Jr. (Donna); granddaughter, Mandy Gray (David); and great grandchildren, Brycen and Anna Gray, the "light" of Joe Mack's life. Surviving also, are his sister, Gladys Davis; brothers, Jay Lawrence (Benita), Ricky Lawrence (Susan); and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 7, 2022 at Ebenezer Baptist Church with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Burns Ebenezer Cemetery with Rev. Terry Upchurch officiating. Memorials may be made to Ebenezer Baptist Church Youth Group, 1942 N. Wyatt Dr., El Dorado, AR 71730. Condolences can be expressed at www.youngsfuneralhome.com
