Frances (H.T.) Larzelere 870-863-5831, Died 4/17/2011
Comments:
May 12, 1943 - October 8, 2025 H.T. "Trip" Larzelere, Jr., 82, passed away in Little Rock on October 8, 2025. Trip was born May 12, 1943, in El Dorado, Ark. The only son of H. T. and Frances (McKinney) Larzelere, Trip grew up in a close-knit community of family and friends. He was most often found outdoors – hunting, playing tennis, and water skiing. After graduating from El Dorado High School, Trip attended Hendrix College for one year before transferring to Tulane University, where he joined the Kappa Sigma Fraternity and completed both his undergraduate and law degrees. Trip then earned an LLM in taxation from New York University before returning to Arkansas and joining the Friday, Eldredge, and Clark law firm in Little Rock. In the early 1970s, Trip married Susan Young of Searcy, Ark., and became a father to sons, Henry Tripler Larzelere III and Thomas Alexander Larzelere. His love of the outdoors was something he passed on to his boys through summer weekend trips to Lake Hamilton, cold morning duck hunts in Gillette, and lots of time on the tennis courts – both he and Alex were fierce competitors in tournaments around the state. Through all the changing decades, Trip continued to prioritize time with family and a close group of friends over all else, eventually showing his softest side in the role of grandfather to Charlotte, Henry, and Emily. Trip is preceded in death by his parents, H. T. and Frances Larzelere. He is survived by his two sons, Alex Larzelere and Tripler Larzelere III (wife, Sarah); and three grandchildren, Charlotte Larzelere, H. T. Larzelere IV (Henry), and Emily Larzelere. A service of celebration and remembrance will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, November 17, 2025, at St. James United Methodist Church in Little Rock, Ark. Donations may be made in Trip's name to St. James United Methodist Church, Ducks Unlimited, or the Arkansas Community Foundation.
