June 22, 1968 - married Ronnie Woods at St. Mary's in E1 Dorado

1968-1979 Spanish teacher - Barton, Rogers, Norphlet HS, SAU-El Dorado

May 12, 1974 Susan Brooke Woods born in El Dorado, 1979 MA in English- LATech

1979- divorce, Brooke and I moved to Dallas. I tutored Spanish and Brooke attended The St. Michael School.

January 1980- my college friend Nancy Shelton introduced me to Jack Hyland. Jack had hired her husband Jim to join his cardiology practice at Baylor Hospital.

December 27, 1980- Jack and I married at St. Michael's- Dallas. I continued tutoring and volunteering with several church and community groups.

September 22, 1982- Mary Kathryn Hyland born- Dallas.

Jack still works and I volunteer. My special interest is teaching reading readiness (English phonetics) to Hispanic 4 year olds in several area pre-schools. We enjoy gardening, traveling, the symphony and spending time with friends and our family of 4 daughters and 7 grandchildren. Julie Hyland Ambler (50-Price) is Head of School at The Woodlands Christian Academy. They have Julia (21-University of Quebec) and J.P.(18-freshman at Kettering). Leslie Hyland Rodgers (48-George) is Director of her charitable music group-symphonyofsou1.org (google this for fun!). George (cardiologist in Austin) is the father of Michael, Ginni and Alec. Brooke (37-divorced) lives in El Dorado with her daughters Katy(ll) and Rebecca (6) Mangrum. She is completing a Masters in Counseling at LA Tech and will teach in El Dorado this year. Mary Kathryn Hyland, M.D. married Austin Eagleton, M.D. on June 11 at St. Michael's. They graduated from UTHSC at San Antonio in May. MK has begun a UT Southwestern-Austin residency in pediatrics at Dell Children's Hospital. Austin has begun a UT Southwestern-Austin residency in general surgery at Brackenridge and Seton hospitals.

I am looking forward to being with our classmates in October! The longer I live, the more I realize how lucky we are to have grown up together in EI Dorado. We learned all we need to know about the good things and the bad things in life ... in a safe, nurturing and inspirational environment.
