March 30, 1941 - April 18, 2004

James H. "Sonny" Willis, 63, of Little Rock, and formerly of El Dorado and Magnolia, died Sunday, April 18, 2004, in Little Rock.

Born March 30, 1941, in the Philadelphia Community, he was the son of the late Floyd and Evie Jane Elmore Willis.  He was a retired U.S. Army Reservist and was director of the Bureau of Legislative Research for the Secretary of State.  He was a Methodist.

Preceded in death by this parents and three sisters, Betty Willis, Jo Ann Williams and Jean Burdine, his survivors include a daughter, Robyn Smith of Sherwood, AR; a granddaughter, Cassidy D. Smith of Sherwood, AR;  sisters, Mardell Smith of El Dorado, Martha Lee of Shongaloo, LA, and Linda Keaster of Perryville, AR; and brother, Jerry Willis of Magnolia.

Funeral was held at 10:30am, April 21, at Philadelphia United Methodist Church with Dwayne Miller officiating.  Burial was at Philadelphia Cemetery under the dirction of Lewis Funeral Home of Magnolia.  Memorials may be made to Philadelphia First United Methodist Church.
