November 10, 1942 – February 1, 2000 Thomas Leonard Martin, 57, of Chalmette, LA, died Tuesday, February 1st at Ochsner’s in New Orleans, LA. Born November 10, 1942 in Urbana, AR, he was the son of William C Martin Sr. and Mary L. Saunders. He was a stock manager with Winn-Dixie and a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his mother and a brother, William Clyde Martin Jr. Survivors include his father, William C. Martin Sr. of Chalmette, and two brothers, Charles Martin and Gary Martin, both of Chalmette. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Knowles Baptist Church in Strong with the Rev. Harold Diffie officiating. Interment will be in Knowles Cemetery under the direction of Rumph Owers Funeral Home of Strong, AR. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Addition Information: He actually is buried in Center Point Cemetery in Strong, AR. The inscription on his head stone says “A Wonderful Son, a Great Brother, and a Loving Uncle; Rest in Peace.”
