New bio of 5/22/2013 replaces one published for EHS 50th Memory Book old Bio After living in Houston about 35 years I moved to Albuquerque December 2005. I always had a music studio in Houston and was on the faculty of the Esoteric Philosophy Center for many years. Have sung in clubs in New Orleans, Houston and Santa Fe, and also enjoyed solo work in major choral productions. Was married to a New Yorker, widowed and legally chose to change my name to Alexander. We were older when we married and decided not to have children, though I have a lot of artistic and spiritual children. I actually would prefer living in Taos, NM as it brings memories of Russia and Tibet to my heart, and I still tear up or cry when I have to leave there and return home, but it's not a place where I can live - winters are too long, altitude at 9,000 ft. It's an enchanting place to visit. Each trip up there provides me with some mysterious synchronicity. I run into people I have known elsewhere, I see movie stars, or I find the obscure book I've been meaning to order from Amazon. I recently retired from public school teaching after 4 1/2 years. Walked into the principal's office on January 25, 2011 and said "I am leaving and I won't be back." Too dysfunctional. New Mexico has drawn me for years. Its geological history is awesome. Also the archeoastronomical sites (like Chaco Canyon) offer spectacular dark night skies to enjoy with binoculars or telescopes. I am an amateur astronomer and belong to the Albuquerque Astronomical Society and am really enjoying all my discoveries of the cosmos. Now I am down from three jobs to two - the two things I have been in love with most of this lifetime - music and astrology. I teach piano four afternoons a week, and I do astrology readings for clients living all over the U.S., in person or by phone. I love being part of the new astrology (since the early 70's) based on depth psychology, and think Jungian psychology is brilliant and wise as it helps us explore who we really are as unique beings. Don't want to ever retire from those two professions. Am planning to be at the reunion. I look forward to seeing you again, and I wonder if if we will recognize each other after all these years.
Biography:
Ann McCorvey Alexander - aka Zada Alexander Have moved back to Houston, May 1, 2013. Said good-bye to New Mexico after 7 years and am enjoying the green again: trees, grass and abundant flowers of Houston. There has been a lot of building and expanding here while I was gone. Professionally am doing Intuitive Consultations and Astrology readings, as well as metaphysical classes. After all these years, am releasing Voice and Piano instruction; just don't want to do that any longer. Change is good. Also new email address. Zada
