August 25, 1943 - October 28, 2009 Joanne Murphree Davis, age 66, of Crossett, AR passed away on October 28, 2009 at St. Vincent’s in Little Rock, AR. She was born on August 25, 1943 in El Dorado, AR to her parents, Clyde Charles and Mattie Florence Allison Murphree. Mrs. Davis was an employee of First National Bank of Crossett for 35 years, having served as vice president of Human Resources. She was a member of St. Marks Episcopal Church. Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by a brother, James Murphree and a sister, Wanda Lee Lindsey. Survivors include: her husband of 46 years, Charles R.Davis of Crossett, AR; one son, Chuck Davis of Adamsville, TN; one daughter, Christa Ricks of Fayetteville, AR; three brothers, Dennis Murphree of El Dorado, AR, Tommy Murphree of Hot Springs Village, AR, Jeff Murphree of El Dorado, AR; two sisters, LaVon Wood of El Dorado, AR, Catherine Taylor of Malvern, AR; and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 30, 2009 at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church with Rev. Robert Allen officiating. Interment will follow at Crossroads Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett, AR. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, P. O. Box 795, Crossett, AR 71635 or your favorite charity.
